Dogs West is excited to announce the introduction of the Extraordinary Community Member Award, a new addition to our Honours Mandate designed to recognise the outstanding contributions of our members in times of need.
Throughout our community, there are members who go above and beyond—offering immediate medical assistance during a critical incident, stepping up in dangerous situations to evacuate animals, or providing unwavering support to fellow members during difficult times. These selfless acts of kindness, leadership, and generosity deserve to be acknowledged.
Award Criteria
The Extraordinary Community Member Award will be granted based on the following criteria:
- Dogs West may recognise up to three (3) extraordinary community events per year.
- Members who made a significant contribution during those events may be nominated for the award.
- Nominees must have gone above and beyond what is normally expected to assist another member or their dogs in a time of distress, danger, or hardship.
- This award is separate from other honors, meaning recipients of other awards remain eligible.
Inaugural Year Submissions Open Now!
As this is the first year of the award, Dogs West is accepting submissions from March 7 2025. Submissions close at 5pm April 7 2025. Moving forward, nominations will align with our standard award application periods.
