Judging Retrieving Trials

Does watching a Gundog display its natural hunting ability in a natural environment appeal ?

Does marvelling at the tremendous tenacity, sagacity and determination of a gundog to succeed in retrieving its game give you that tingling feeling?

If so then consider applying to judge Retrieving trials. It is hard to put into words the pleasure received watching dogs doing "what comes naturally" whilst experiencing some of the most beautiful "out of the way" places in our wonderful country.

Of course there are criteria to be met, being a member of DogsWest for five years, and being successfully involved with the level of trials you are aspiring to judge are important for any applicant.

The Retrieving trial judges training scheme is designed to firstly test your knowledge of the rules, then through a series of practical workshops and lecture/discussion sessions lead you to undertaking a "mock trial" assessment in order to obtain your Novice licence.
