JUDGING IN THE OBEDIENCE RING
There is nothing nicer than seeing a well trained dog competing in the obedience ring.
Watching the handler and dog working as a team, the dog happily carrying out the exercises in style, is something that each and every obedience judge looks for when judging. Some dogs grasp obedience a lot quicker than others, but every dog is trainable and should be able to compete if the handler is willing to put the work into training their best friend.
Do you attend obedience trials regularly? Do you belong to a club, are an instructor, or are you one who likes to compete with your dog, love the challenges of the exercises but want to go further but not sure how? Would you consider the idea of becoming an obedience judge?
If you have trained a dog to CCD level and have been a member of the Canine Association of WA or another affiliate for 3 years and live in Western Australia, perhaps this may appeal to you.
Should you decide that you enjoy watching and competing in obedience and wish to put something back into the sport, contact the DogsWest office or speak to the Obedience Judges Training Coordinator to find out when the next trainee judges course will be conducted.
We look forward to you taking part in our training scheme and becoming an Obedience Judge.
